Dr Jude Fitzgerald studied medicine at Flinders University, undertook Ophthalmology training as a Registrar throughout public hospitals in Adelaide and Alice Springs, and completed a Paediatric fellowship at Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide.
He obtained fellowship with RANZCO in 2023.
He has previously he worked as a qualified Orthoptist in Victoria.
Jude’s interests are in Paediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus, General Ophthalmology including Neuro-Ophthalmology, Cataract and Glaucoma.
He currently also holds public consultant appointments at Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Modbury Hospital.
He has previously been involved in research into risk factors for glaucoma progression at Flinders Medical Centre and has multiple publications in glaucoma research.
He is involved in Paediatric ophthalmology education for senior medical students and medical officers at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
